BACS details

You can make a one-off payment from your business bank account to your Capital on Tap account using BACS (Bankers' Automated Clearing Services) details. This article will show you where to find your unique BACS details in your Capital on Tap online portal.

How to make a BACS payment

To make a BACS payment, you must first access your unique bank transfer details in your Capital on Tap online portal.

  1. Log in to the Capital on Tap online portal.
  2. Click on the Payments tab.
  3. Select One-off payment details.
  4. Click on Transfer to COT.
  5. View and copy your bank transfer details including the reference.

This is the only way you can view the bank details to transfer funds to us.

Important: Payments must be sent from the bank account on file to be successfully applied to your Capital on Tap account.

How long do BACS payments take to reflect on my account?

In most cases, BACS payments are instant. If your payment is not applied instantly, it may be under review. If this happens, the payment will typically be applied within two hours.

Can I use BACS details to overpay my account?

Payments that result in an overpayment may be refunded. If you wish to overpay your account, you should contact our team to discuss Preloading.

Can someone else pay into my Capital on Tap card?

Payments must come from the bank account on file for your account. If a payment is sent from another bank account, it will be automatically rejected and returned to the sending account.

What is my account number and sort code?

As this is a credit card, your account does not have an account number and sort code. These are the account details you would use to pay money into your account with us from your own business bank account. For the same reason there is no International Bank Account number (IBAN) or Swift code.
