Eligibility criteria for a Capital on Tap card
To be eligible for a Capital on Tap Business Credit card, you and your business must meet specific criteria. This article outlines the requirements and answers common questions about the application process. The application for a Savings account has separate criteria.
Am I eligible for a Capital on Tap card?
You are eligible for a Capital on Tap Business Credit Card if you meet the following criteria:
- You are an active director or a majority shareholder with at least 25% ownership of the company. If your role does not match either of these, your application cannot be accepted.
- Your business is registered as a private limited company (Ltd) or a limited liability partnership (LLP).
- Both you and your business are based in the UK.
- Your business has a turnover of at least £24,000 per year.
- You have no unsatisfied CCJs against you or your business in the last 12 months.
- Your business is not a high-risk industry.

Can I apply if I'm a charity or a non-profit organisation?
Currently, Capital on Tap cannot accept applications from charities, non-profit organisations, trusts, funds, or Royal Charters.
Will an application impact my credit file?
Applying for a Capital on Tap Business Credit Card will not affect your personal credit file. We will perform a soft search on your personal credit file and a hard search on your business's file.
